Adult & Senior Eye Exams
At Advanced Family Eye Care, we are pleased to offer a wide range of optometry services for our community! Our experienced optometrists can provide you with thorough eye evaluations. They will create an eyeglass prescription that is unique for every individual. Our optical department specializes in selecting a frame that flatters each face shape and skin tone, and obtaining the appropriate measurements to customize eyewear for each patient.
If you are new to our office, the first step is to always begin with a comprehensive eye exam. Please bring your current eyewear, medication list, and complete personal and family medical and ocular history with you. This information will allow for a complete examination of your ocular health. If you have never had a comprehensive exam, don’t worry! Your experience will be painless!
Unlike a vision screening at your school, workplace, or pediatrician’s office, a comprehensive eye exam will evaluate every aspect of the eyes. The optometrist will, of course, determine a proper prescription for glasses and/or contact lenses if needed. They will also assess your eye teaming or how well your eyes work together. Probably the most important part of the exam is the ocular health evaluation, where eye diseases such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Eye Disease are commonly diagnosed. Often times, systemic conditions such as High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and many Auto-Immune conditions can be discovered through an eye examination. Comprehensive eye exams should begin as an infant to ensure proper eye and vision development. Eye health examinations at regular intervals are also important as many eye diseases and vision changes can occur without warning signs.
